They will make seeds Donn.

Along the stem they form small triangular shaped seed pods (if I'm remembering correctly). Just like all plants you'll need to wait for them to dry and wither...then you can save the seeds. There are probably three seeds in each seed pod. You can WS them next year, germination is staggered.

Trudi is correct. I haven't tried to germinate them, but they sure have taken over my father's back garden! They from three-lobed pods, each holding one to three matte, black, medium-sized (for seeds), round seeds. When they are ready, the pods start to turn light brown and papery. By that time, you can see the seeds right through the pod walls, and the pods will start to open from the top. they are the easiest things to collect.

They also wont bloom the first yr.I gave my father some,he pulled them up the following spring thinking they were wild onion,lol.So note where you plant them.

In my seed-saving frenzy last year, I saved some grape hyacinth seeds and have winter-sown them (on Feb 26) - no sign of sprouts yet.

They're fading now, about 80% of each blossoming stalk has faded, leaving what I guess is the seed pods you speak of. I just opened a couple, and they contained 4-6 very small black, rough-textured somethings. I guess those are the seeds?

Maybe I'll just save and sow the pods.

Update: I ended up collecting several thousand seeds from my Muscari, from mid-late June, and will start wintersowing them shortly. From what I've read, I expect to have bulblets by next fall.

I planted some that I received in a trade...only about 6 have sprouted...least they are sprouting though :))
