Haven't had this IDed yet. Asked around and got a few suggestions. I was told it looks like a yellow trumpet, but the leaves don't look alike. Hmmm...

Wow! That's pretty. I've never seen that plant before though....perhaps you should post the photo in the "Name that Plant" forum to get the name. That way the plant family can be identified. Usually, plant families have many similar charcteristics, including seed production.

You know, one thing you can do is....when the flower is beginning to wilt, cut the foot off of a pair of panty hose and enclose the flower (while it is still on the stem). Probably will want to tie the loose end of the hose onto the vine behind the flower. Now...just wait until the flower has completely dried up...then cut the flower off (while still in the panty hose) and then place the whole thing in a container and disect it. This way, the seed doesn't get a chance to drop to the ground before you can get to it. If there was going to be a seed, it will surely be in there.
