That's good news, Laura. I'm glad to hear those chickens don't like your sans. I have been experimenting a little myself. I don't have any chickens roaming around, but since we are living in the woods in N. Georgia, there are all kinds of wildlife out looking for a snack. I have a nice shady front porch, and have some of my sans out there for a trial. So far there has been only some minor snacking by grasshoppers. No rodents or other small animals have bothered them at all. Knock on wood!

Our family loves eggs. Would be nice to have chickens around. Chicken poop is supposedly a good fertilizer. It may raise the ph or so. So a little is good. We have deer and they usually don't brother plants until winter. They clean up all my hosta beds and small fruit trees that I forgot to put fence around the bark. They even eat milk weed and my Stagehorn Sumac trees. Off topic but we are slow here. Nice to know seems only humans love Sans.

Our chickens are now escape artists. Well, actually one is the ring leader and the others are followers. They sure can clean out the garden when the veggies are gone. We let the 'fertilizer' age before we use it. They are great for getting bugs in the yard. One summer several of my Christmas cactus summering outside were wiped out by grasshoppers (I think) or squirrels. At first I thought it was DH as he likes to help me trim plants. But chickens are fun to watch it's still fun to go out and gather eggs.

We are not allowed to have any kind of livestock, Rabbits are quiet, chicken a few I would love to have, Pigenes are great also my neighbor raised the roof when she saw me feeding them, well she couldn't do any thing about the squirrels, or grasshoppers, or wild cats. I have one that I feed every night. The really don't bother me at all and have a right to live. I won't let any animal starve. Norma
