Since it's been about three weeks since your posting, I don't know if this will help you. You will need a good 3 months to try and get any seed from planting now. Your first frost probably comes sooner where you are than down here in Oklahoma. You might try planting some seeds and keeping some for next year. That way you won't loose them all if you can't get any seeds before the frost hits.

wpooh - I have to agree with brockthegreek in the fact that you should set some of the seed aside just in case. However it has been my personal experiance, that Bachelor Buttons don't take long here in my zone 6 Columbus Ohio Area. I have never Wintersowed them. I just scatter the seed in the area I want them, and cover lightly with fine soil. And keep moist for germination. And they do just fine. Once they have all bloomed and set seed, I just snatch all the heads off and gently crush the seeds loose right back in the same area. And they grow again. I do that every year, and always have plenty to gather for trading in the fall too. So they just might surprise you. Good luck, hope you get blooms!!
