cone flowers are one of the easiest things my wife has ever grown. she starts them in a styrofoam cup in compost and put into a baggie til it sprouts up then is placed in the window til ready to plant outside.

The link gives a nice photo of the seeds. Often people save the chaff because it looks seed like instead of the seed it self! This also happens a lot with Rudbeckia, but anyway, check out the link : )
