Pat is fine Wade as well. The fires were/are in Bastrop quite some distance from Pat and Wade 476 homes destroyed
25000 acres and growing. The local fires were at 2 locations newest one is in the Mason Creek (Leander)area my mother in law is evacuating as we speak.

about 15 miles from us.

Winds of 20-30 mph. are pushing fires quickly. Spicewood (Close to Pederales falls north Hays county) close to where Mara lives is 85% contained.
This drought is showing no signs of letting up either.
Salvias are looking bad. I maybe able to catch up on watering now that the heat wave broke at a record of
80 day's over 100
The agave snout weevil is at its worst this year. Scott
Ogden was in from Colorado last week.
Salvia's are looking pretty bad.

Thanks for asking Art, just fine. Presumably you aren't actually on fire. The heater just missed being flooded but just missed is just fine. It is hard to believe we were in a deep drought as recently as the first of August. My salvia and agastache garden in the park has responded with a staggering display of bloom. Sorry Art, I know you are still in the middle of all your weather problems. This is just one of those special times when it all falls together and there is nothing to do except be amazed. If it is any concellation the irrigated home garden got smashed pretty good. You could almost here the 12 foot Leonotis nepetifolia crashing in the wind.
