The seeds will be in the centre of the dried out flower. I have a purple form - it doesn't set much seed. Once you've seen one, you will recognise them ever after. Not the dry stuff - that's just chaff. Real seed stands out amongst the chaff and is blackish and looks a bit like mouse droppings. Gosh I wish I'd never said that, you may never have mouse problems!!!! Anyway happy hunting.

True Osteospermum flowers are steril and any seeds produced won;t give you the same resulting plant or color. You have to propagate them.

I was wondering this too. Because the seed I collected from "Lemon Symphony" looks very inconspicuous, like it might be sterile. Certainly not "obvious" like most seeds are when they are ready.

I was wondering though, I had a seed packet for "African Daisy" and it produced seeds that look like little round oats (for lack of better description!) Would this be Arctotis seed? (rather than Osteospermum).
