could be many things... did you put them in the ground during a heat wave? Did you JUST put them in, so that it might be shock? What kind of soil did you put them in? Are they getting adequate sun? In my neck of the woods, my pineapple sage can take way more sun than my brugies, which is what I am guessing BF means, but I could be wrong on that too.

BF butterfly garden....It takes so much of my time I haven;t got time to post to hummers or salvias, all of which I love. No, I put them in eitehr early this spring, or last fall. Good sun, well drained soil. I'm going to try to get a pic, I just got a new computer and am having a heck of a time getting programs moved over. As soon as I can isntall Kodak software, I'll upload a pic. Thanks

I live in the tropics and sometimes the sun is too extreme and even though they say they take full sun, they do prefer a little bit off shade.

I had some salvias planted in a large pot last summer and 1 by 1 they died. The culprit was some big grubs that were eating the roots.

I'm wondering if it could be something eating the roots? Most of mine are doing quite well, though the ones doing best do get some morning shade.

I'm in a coastal z 8, summer days extend to the upper 80's low 90's for months at a time....

I am going to try to upload some pics.

I would check for root rot or vole damage.

with the heat of nowadays, I have to water my pineapple sage every few days, if not it wilts. All my other sages are fine with once a week or so. I also notice that the green grasshoppers like to hang around the pineapple sage all the time.

I do agree that although they are known as Full Sun, they rather have some shade if possible.
