The day lilies I've collected have been fairly easy - The seed pod is very obvious and fairly large, when it begins to open harvest the seed - there is usually quite a few seeds in each. The only iris seeds I've harvested was the same technique - although the pod was considerably larger with MANY more seeds per pod.
