Are the pods good and dry? If so, shell out the seeds. If not, the seeds won't be viable and won't sprout so wait till fall to collect good dry pods so that the seeds are viable. Keep them in a paper envelope in a dry cool place till fall.

Then plant the seeds in pots outside late this fall and let winter provide the stratification they need. If they sprout in the spring, they can be transplanted to a larger container or into the ground once they are about 6" tall.

Mimosa are a fast growing but short lived tree and be aware that they are considered an invasive species in many parts of the country.
