Cilantro seeds are coriander (another spice) so useful in themselves. ;) But yes, the plant has to be very dry if you are harvesting to use as seeds rather than as a spice. That way the seeds will be mature and have a higher germination rate in the spring.

A lite frost is no problem but a deep hard frost may damage the seeds. Can you cover it?

Thanks for the info. Last year I waited too long to harvest the seeds and they seemed hollow and did not germinate. I can cover the plants it is about a 15 ft. row.Thanks Dilly
