gosh - typo error - sorry. Yes. Shiso perilla which I know reseeds like crazy. Actually, trudi from the WS forum reminded me to wait until they are brown and I questioned whether I could retrieve the seeds while the pods were greenish because the seeds look ready. I figured if I waited too long until they were brown, they may drop and then I can't package them to send to who I have promised a ton to. I guess I will just keep a watchful eye on the pods. Perillas aren't amaranths, but are mint-relatives, so you would collect seeds like you collect mint seeds: There are four small, roundish seeds a "pod", inside the sideways cups (bracts) that remain after the flowers disappear. Being mints, they don't usually turn completely brown (especially the purple one) when they are ready, if at all. You can usually tell when they are ready if you look inside, and the seeds look dark brown, and the bracts turn fragile and papery. Mine are just about ready right now.
