Salvia Stalks Creeping

A few months back I planted a few Merleau Blue Saliva, and they've taken well and have even bloomed nicely. I have noticed though that the flower stalks are creeping out and up hanging out of the container. I was wondering if it was normal for these plants to creep. It isn't keep a very "tight" appearance.

You are correct S.nemerosa or S x superba "Merleau Blue" do not form runners. If you could post a picture of what you
have we can ID it.

Ahh, I should probably transplant them then. Is this an acceptable time of the year to transplant them? I live in North Alabama (Zone 7).
