Greggiis and microphyllas tend to hold their leaves longer than other salvias. The blepharophylla will die back after a hard freeze and should come back after a mild winter. Some hardwood bark mulch will help for the deepest parts of winter, but be sure to remove it when the ground starts to warm.

I chickened out and dug mine up and it is cooling its heels in my moderately heated garage, under lights. Next year I will try it outside over winter.
