My newly planted S. columbariae isn't looking so good... argh. I've also just planted S. fruticosa, but haven't tried it in the kitchen. I think I will try S. lavandulifolia (also new for me in the garden) for Thanksgiving this week. This is the sage that is used in Spain for cooking (I lived there as a kid). I read it helps lower blood sugar, for any diabetics out there.

I think that the fruit sages are best eaten raw (salad, etc), as cooking takes away the flavor, if memory serves from my reading.

Voodoobrew, What do you mean by "fruit sages"?

Art, I was going to use the Pineapple sage leaves and flowers in a pitcher of cold water with some lime or lemon slices.

whichgrows in other countries surrounding the Mediterranean
Sea.
