Gardening in Shade

Need recommendation for foundation shrub....

.....white flowers in summer...can withstand dense north facing shade (some refracted light)....fairly dry.....can be kept to no more than 3-4ft tall and wide. Blushing Bride Hydrangea? Little Lamb Hydrangea? Suggestions would be much appreciated! Thx :-)

Hydrangeas do not care for dry situations nor do they flower well in 'dense' shade. I'd suggest 'Otto Luyken' laurel, which will tolerate some very heavy and dry shade, although flowering may be better with more sun. Flowering is closer to mid to late spring as opposed to summer.
