I am a fellow gardener but my daytime job is writing iphone and ipad apps. If you could list here what you want the application to do, I would consider writing it. Seems like very useful, some type of garden journal app.

I use Gardener's Journal 1.4. There's no reference attached to it. It's great if you're just looking to do journal with short notes and pictures.

Tended App is an option that works on phones, tablets, and desktops: https://www.tendedapp.com It lets you visually design a garden including adding notes on individual plants, track your activities and harvests, and see reports about your growing. There's also basic task management on a calendar view, the ability to upload photos, and it lets you see other gardeners' layouts as well. Check it out!
