I want to try a Lenten Rose

I have an atrium area in my front yard that gets filtered shade most of the year . In summer, a couple hours of sun late afternoon. My azaleas died. Not enough sun. Has anyone grown Lenten Roses successfully in this area? How does it tolerate our summer heat? Your responses are appreciated!
