Do you spring plant broccoli and cauliflower ? If so, what varieties do well for you please and what type of zone 7 weather do you have cool, then HOT and dry or warm then Humid or some combination ?

I am itching to plant outside, have a nice bunch of stuff going indoors atm

I've already got lettuces growing, and some sugar snap peas. Put in some potatoes over the weekend. Broccoli & cabbage should already be in the ground. Also, someone told me that if you see butterflies 3 days in a row, then it's time to plant your corn--which I did yesterday (before it rained).

I'm in Southern MD and it's still too cold! Even with the 80 degree days, it was freezing here last night!

This is so frustrating, because you never know when to plant here.

Yes, I am! Already I have plants outside harding off. I have plastic ready just in case we have a temperature warning.

This year we are changing over from row crops to square gardening. This is going to be a total change in the way my husband and I look at gardening. However, I believe it will be to our advantage in the long run.

I so far have cabbage, lettuce, radishes, onion, garlic, green beans, lima beans, squach and potatoes. Planted this bed 3/12/07 and look at it today.

Oh yes! I planted some dill a couple weeks ago, which is just sprouting now. I also just planted some lettuce, spinach and cilantro.
Green Goliath brocolli worked well for me last year until the deer did a number. Try a self-blanching cauliflower, otherwise you have to deal with tying the leaves up over it as it grows. My peas go in this weekend!

I have lettuce, onions, spinach & mesclun mix. I was a bit late getting it in the ground this year. They have all sprouted and I am so looking forward to getting more things going. Happy gardening to all!
