Cyrstalized silica in Vermiculite?
Hello and good day to all !!! I bought some vermiculite in the insulation department at Menards (3 sq foot bags) On the package under ingredients is said "Vermiculite with 1% or less crystalized silica" also it cautioned to wear a mask when handling due to the silical content. Is the silica just a common inert ingredient of vermiculite ? And is the vermiculite/1% silica safe to mix in my sfg beds. I dont want to ruin my four 4x8 beds if i mix this in. Maybe i can get away with just using peat moss/compost 50/50 mix ? Are there any other relatively inexpensive solutions ? Thank you for reading. ?
