Palms Discovered in Los Lunas

Two Trachycarpus about seven feet high are growing in an enclosed courtyard about 30 feet west of Highway 314 going south just before you reach the intersection with Courthouse Road and the train depot (at the southern edge of Los Lunas). This is quite near me and I bike past it every day, but the outer wall was always obscured by high Box hedges and shrub roses which have now been cut in half, so now you can see the palm fronds just peeking above the wall. It's an excellent location protected from the worst of the prevailing winds by two-storey buildings and our--in this neighborhood--ubiquitous immense Siberian Elms.
