that said, i wouldnt plan on it lasting long, or being able to take much punishment, but 14 bucks is pretty cheap. i paid that for screws and strong ties to build mine.

its deep enough to grow most things, personally mines about 12in and it handles everything pretty well.(tomatoes, carrots, potatoes)

if nothing else try it out, if you like SFG you can go bigger next year or two, or keep and make it an herb garden

That's really a good deal depending on how much shipping is. IIRC Mel Bartholomew says you need 6 inches for most everything except root crops like carrots. I personally make mine from untreated 2x8's so that being 7 inches tall should be fine. Don't forget to put down weed fabric.

I have one that looks just like that, except it's cedar and cost twice as much. The depth was no problem. I have another raised bed made from pine shelving that has been in use 4 years and is still going strong. I did put a sealer on the inside.

Nice price plus stainless steel hardware. Plus, it gives a finished look to the garden, and not something shabby.
