Ammarilla Seed Pods

I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong but have huge seed pods this year and was wondering if they would turn into plants. I watch the pods growing everyday and are turning from deep green into yellow and don't know what to do with them now or was I to cut off the bloomed stalks and forget about the pods altogether. I'm in San Diego and would love to meet some local gardeners and share our experiences. debbysunshine@hotmail.com

I'm guessing you mean the plant with huge bulbs and huge flowers, whose scientific name is Hippestrum. YES, they will grow from seed - see link below.

To meet other local gardeners in San Diego, come to the free monthly meetings of the San Diego Horticultural Society. We meet the 2nd Monday night of every month at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
