Asparagus question

So I put some asparagus in a separate bed all on it's own today. The 'bulbs' are 2 yr old according the package. Now I know that you aren't supposed to harvest the first year, then just a few the second, and then ok for the years after. Does this mean that this being the plants third year I am ok to harvest? That should be correct right?

I don't know asparagus either, but I had the similar question about my blueberries. They were 3 year old plants with similar directions for harvest. I decided the reason for the delay was to allow the plants to develop solid root systems and strong canes to hold the clusters. So I have waited.

Does that make sense why you might want to as well?
