Great job! What's wrong with the far left squares? If they're not a full 12" you can still plant something like carrots or radishes there since they don't take up a lot of surface area. Just a thought!

You can plant potatoes, you just have to build a 6" tall 1x1 box to hold the dirt in as the potatoes grow. You start with like 3 inches of soil down and then add more as the plant grows.

I do plan on planting something in the left-most squares, but they are not really good squares, so left them out of my calculations. They will be my "impulsive" planting squares :) I just found an onion which has green shoots coming out. Maybe I'll plant it there and see what'll happen.

I wasn't planning on edging the bed. But based on the suggestions here, I had my son help me bring the pavers in and created the edge. I'm glad I did. It looks so much more better.

Thanks for that suggestion. I have a basement window well to the left of this SFG and another 3-4 feet of place before the fence ends. I also have a stretch of bed in the back of the house near the primrose. That place does not get too much sun because of the trees in the backyard. Since we are supposed to mound the soil around the plant anyway, will a little less sun (maybe about 4 hours or less of sun) be ok for the potatoes? I'd prefer to do it in the backyard if so.
