Dunno about casualties yet, but I'm nervous!

All the palms are inside, so they're okay. I've got some semi-tender stuff in the barn with a heater -- crossing my fingers. Got lots of stuff in kiddie wading pools outside -- I'm nervous about those. And allllllllllll the container plants outside are anybody's guess. I moved and covered figs and camellias, but I won't really know how they or the other stuff did til spring.

East of Lebanon, my low was ONE degree on Thursday night!

I think we made it through OK. The thermometer read -0.1 in our pocket of a yard. Very cold!

Wow! Was it 5 degrees colder in areas of Middle TN than here in K-town?

Sad but apparently true. ;-)

When I was living in Knoxville I often noticed that our winters were milder than Nashville. Keep in mind the Tennessee Valley geography, bringing warm air up from the south and being protected on the west by the Cumberland Plateau. :-)

East Tn is protected by the plateau like amazindirt said. When we lived in E TN we noticed the weather wasn't as stormy and a little milder. My yard is located in a frost pocket and tends to be colder than everywhere else. We get a downdraft due to a lake and a hillside. Makes it real nice in the summer, cold in winter!
