Nobody here ever planted palm seeds? Where'd all the palm trees I see people talking about come from?

My name is Mark. I got some seeds a couple of years ago from Seedman.com. I planted them in one gallon containers and placed them in partial shade. I planted them in a mix of potting soil and sand. Out of ten seeds seven sprouted in about 2 to 4 months. They are now 2 years old and are sprouting thier first fan leaves. I am planting them in the ground this year to speed up growth. I planted alot more last year but none have sprouted. I got them from a differant source. I left them out to see if they will sprout this spring. I have read that overwintering these outside sometimes help the seeds to sprout because these come from the himalayas and sprout in cooler weather. I planted them in the middle of summer. They don't sprout good in the summer heat.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I was beginning to think mine weren't going to sprout, but it sounds like I need to give them more time. I'd be very happy if I got at least a couple of good plants out of the seeds I planted.
