I have that weed in my iris bed also. I have it every year, but not as bad as yours. It is easy to pull out, but time consuming. I wait until spring, and do not know if that is a good thing to do are not.

I can't really tell from the picture. The picture does a great job of showing that it's taking over, but it doesn't show stem habit, up-close leaf shape and texture, etc. It's even hard for me to really judge the size (I can't tell how much iris is sticking out, etc). A picture of the plant in flower would probably make the ID a cinch. Do you know what it looks like in bloom?

The plant looks a little like mint, but I don't think you'd be asking about it if it was. Maybe it could be Stellaria media (chickweed). Google that and see if the pictures match what you see in real-life.

Someone else may be able to ID it with only that picture, but, to me, it looks like multiple possibilities. If you can get a better picture (or two), I'll try to ID it, or you could post in the Name That Plant forum, and someone will probably figure out exactly what it is with just the picture you've already posted.

I'm not certain what it is, but I just leave it alone and it dies when the weather gets warm.

My best guess would be chickweed. Around here it is practically impossible to get rid of as it produces so many
seed almost year round until it really heats up. However,
like the name implies, chickens love it, as do ducks and
geese. Unfortunately, the birds seem to like most everything else. Oh, the joy of living on the farm.

I have the same thing and it is chickweed. I really don't know all the specifics but it is easy to pull now at that size (stringy) and don't let it flower. What little bits come back up from stem or root? I just pluck out. I might have some come up every now and then in spots and just pull it. For the most part it is gone now.
I had Creeping Charlie too. I really dreaded pulling it after reading about it, but I treated it the same way and it is gone also. In one season: pulling, plucking and not letting it flower.
