Questions About Cork Bark.

I was at Petsmart recently, and saw that they have cork bark for sale. It was in fairly small pieces (approx. 4" by 8-10"), and was priced at $8 for one piece. Am I correct in assuming that I should be able to find cheaper prices than this? Also, the pieces appeared to have had some kind of boring insect go all through the back of the pieces (or at least the one that I looked at). Am I right in thinking that this is a less-than-desirable trait? I have not yet checked to see if Petco has better prices/sizes on cork bark, but I am planning to. If I end up ordering some online, do any of you have recommendations as to where to buy it from?
