I did get out both Sunday and this evening. I did the same as you..things appropriate to the season. It is such a teaser! It's funny how much I missed the smell of dirt! I thank God every time he blesses me with a day I can get outside and not freeze! Spring is coming though...the daffodils and robins told me!!

It got up to 70 degrees here at Cheapwood today. I hit it pretty hard today and my back is paying for it now. I started digging and sifting our Canna bed which is 20' in diameter and I'm digging it out 1' deep. So I should have plenty of your standard Yellow Humbert cannas at the MTPS.

BTW, we're just 3 months, 6 days, 10 hours and 49 minutes away!

I spent the last 11 days trying to give birth to kidney stone #13 which included 8 days of attacks. I absolutely HATE these things and this one was hanging in there like a hair in a biscuit! Last night I finally passed that sucker. It was about 3/8 of an inch. Hallelujah!!! So today was the first day I've felt like doing much of anything.

I spent the day out playing in the compost pile. I had a chicken coop to clean out. So flipped the pile while I was at it. I need to find a new area to plant some 6' canna's.
I do have seeds started in their nice window beds already. LOL!

I looked around the garden as I was cleaning some things up and noticed the Autumn Sedum and Daylillies are coming up. It was wonderful to see.
Only about 5 more weeks till it's officially spring! I can't wait.
I started some of my vegetables inside this weekend.

OMG wasn't t gorgeous the other day! I couldn't stand it, and hooked my leafhog and went to town in the back garden.
I was able to get at least half a dozen bags of leaves mulched up and spread over the beds.My back is killing me.
It gets harder and harder the older I get. Heaven would be a gardener that did all the grunt work.
Noticed I have Peonies, Columbine coming up. My Clematis is leafing out. I sure hope we don't get any really bad late freezes.

I cut back a huge Rose of Sharon bush as well as a Perfume Delight rose. I'm now hoping that the cuttings will take in time for the swap. I have twenty varieties of pepper seed to start so I'm dragging my light system out today. I prefer to plant by the moon but time is running out. Cold or warm I get out there and throw logs and branches around for the Bread Man (90 lb gsd). Spring is right around the corner and so is our beloved swap. I hope you are feeling much better Jeff.

Boy, it's killing me too. I have the fever really bad!

This weekend I piddled around a little bit. Worked on getting some of the never-ending supply of oak leaves up. I cut back the monkey grass and one of my ornamental grasses that was big enough to cut back. Hopefully I didn't set them up to freeze their little crowns by doing that!

I also tried to start training the climbing rose on our fence. We inherited the most gorgeous Lady Banks with this house!

The hubby also planted a couple of arborvitae I got for half-off at Babylon/Farmer's Market. They don't have much left, but what they have is a steal. These arbs are six feet tall and look pretty healthy!

Man, just from getting up a few leaves this weekend, I am SO SORE! I must be in really pitiful shape. LOL!

Thanks guys, I'm good as gold now and dropping roofs this week like Grant took Richmond. That storm Wednesday couldn't have come at a better time!
