Is this a pest or not?

Hi all...this forum has been really helpful in all my terrarium-related endeavors! im hoping someone will help me identify a possible pest in my terrarium that previous posts don't really seem to answer....

They are tiny brown bugs, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. (no exaggeration, they are really that small). They do not fly & don't have wings. They live in the substrate (coir) and they seem to hang out on any dead leaves on the floor. They don't seem to be harming my plants, but I do occasionally see them on my live plants. (I have a macodes petola that just today seemed to be looking a little floppy...the foliage is perfect but the stem has become weak/moist right where it meets the substrate, and has basically separated from the root....im worried this is because of the bugs and not because im a novice!) I thought maybe springtails but springtails seem too big in the pictures i've seen. If anyone can offer an ID and/or solution I would be most obliged!
