Where would the creosote be in these bricks? Were they rebared to a railroad tie as a base for some unknown reason?

Dan If the chimney brick were used with wood burning there would be creosote condensed on them. Sorry no knowledge of plant uptake of creosote. Is it visible? If not I would use them. I have some old brick in my raised bed for accent.

Aside from the health aspect, I wonder if unmortared and stacked bricks would be very effective at holding back soil over time.

Could Limestone chunks and pieces be used for around the edges of a raised bed square foot garden? Would I need to level it with builders sand or could I just lay the Limestone pieces on the ground?

Summer faction I have a bed of dry stacked rock it works great. Just stack the rock higher than the soil level you want. only problem is the weeding of the outside edge even my weed eater can't get into all the cracks so some hand work is needed. The creeping Charley and quack grass are the worse. still It only needs to be done a few times a year and the looks make it worth it to me. The rock is used as a heat moderator for my sweet peppers. It seems to work better than wood?? I have no proof of that But still like the rock, peppers and flowers. The rock is red quartzite and really makes green stand out
