I normally put mine out the last week of March...but sure don't plan to put them out before this cold spell is gone...I'm like Norman...mine would freeze.

If cold weather (below freezing) is forecasted, you should take your feeder inside at night and put it back out in the morning.

Other than feeders, one of the important early nectar sources in my garden is Silene virginica (fire pink). They are very easy to grow. Aquilegia canadensis (wild columbine) is also fairly early, and hummingbirds love both.
