Hi all!

I am new to SFG, or just "G" for that matter! I've got a little 4x4 that I share with my housemate. Everything I planted in it so far is going well ( a few peas didn't come up, and something has been munching on my beans' first few leaves, but oh, well...).

I have to say, though, I have an obsession with the Long Island Cheese Pumpkin (squash), and really want to grow it in my SFG. These pumpkin are pretty big, but so delicious!

Is it possible to grow these guys vertically?

I've read the other threads about pumpkins, but a lot them concern smaller pumpkins or just letting the big ones run all over.

I live in Chicago, and have a small yard. I'd be concerned about the pumpkin taking over the backyard, as I rent from a man who is nice but might have difficulty with a pumpkin plant sprawling all over the yard he usually mows weekly. Plus, communication with him is not the best... I am just so grateful I was allowed to put the garden in to begin with.
