boyfriend's idea

My boyfriend has the following idea: He wants to separate his 50 gallon fish tank. On one side he wants to put in a fountain with nice splashing sound. A glass divider to separate the splash from the rest of the tank. On the other side (say 60% of tank) make that into a terrarium.

What do you all think? Is this feasible? We are just beginning the research.

IMO some of the most interesting tanks are setup this way.
They can be done horizontal or vertical with variuos degrees of water flows. probably the first thing to do is decide what you want to keep particularly animals, and design around that.
You can find many websites on this approach called Paludariums,river tanks,or amphibious .
There are many websites on this just search the variuos types of habita. Don't forget to check out the Dutch vivariums . Fantastic!!
I'm currently working on a 150 gallon setup of this type
combining several types of habitat.Mostly for plants though I'm sure there will be some fish lol.
