Welcome! I'm a new gardener myself. I have 2 4x4 boxes, but I'm currently at war with some squirrels and chipmunks that seem to think I've constructed these boxes for their enjoyment :) Anyway, your boxes look great, and your flower bed with the bird bath is beautiful! I am new to gardening and square foot gardening too. You look like you've put a lot of preparation and care in planning your boxes. DH thought it was funny too when I announced I was going to garden as I've always lost interest. But I have really enjoyed them. I've had them for about 3 weeks.
I also live in Fl...St Pete area. DH built two 4x4 boxes. They are doing well except the birds and squirrels found them. I just covered them with netting tonight, but I'm afraid it will keep out the bees or damage the plants. We'll see....
It's nice to see a FL Sq Ft gardener b/c the FL gardening forum and SFG forum don't always apply to us. Good luck!
