I've got a problem with my seed germination and if they do germinate the seedlings. I have an idea that my starting mixture is to blame but I would like your opinion. I have had less than 50% germination rate and close to 100% death rate with the seedlings. The seedlings that emerge do not grow more than 3/4" tall and when I check them they do not have any roots. My seed starting procedure is the same that it has been for many years so I can count that out. I started around 30 varities of tomatoes and 20 varieties of peppers with about 400 seeds. The only change this year from years past is that the peat moss I used to make my mixture was left over from last year and stayed in the greenhouse. This disease does not just affect the tomato seeds and seedlings but also is just as deadly on pepper, eggplant, squash, cucumbers, zucchini,and herbs. Below is a link to pics to show the problem.
