Well, the cukes would work fine - and perhaps the spaghetti and butternut squash as well.But, it would be difficult to get the others to go there, in my opinion.Besides, I think it would be difficult to lean in under it- to pick stuff. Why not build a trellis for each box? I don't know what reservations you have about adding some, but they are easy to build - just make sure you build it to handle the amount of weight that you anticipate for what you might support with it.Mine can hold at least 100 lbs., but I tend to go overboard on things that I build.You certainly don't have to build anything that rigid.If you need help,all you need do is ask.

I think it sounds great if you can get something strong enough on the bottom to hook the netting on. Sounds like a good idea though! You might want to use wood or some sort of support on the sides to connect the netting to as well.
