Have you seen any bugs on them? Flea beetles will eat holes in plant leaves. They are small black insects. This year they are loving my eggplants, and leaving my tomatoes alone, so far.....I sprayed my eggplants with Sevin to get rid of them, but your method of control would depend on if you are trying to go organic or not.....

This AM I spotted a 3/4" long caterpillar on one of the stems of my tomato plants. I didn't look at it too closely. Not sure if it was a hornworm. Is Sevin Dust the answer or is there a more natural way to get rid of them? Thanks.

There are some threads on the organic gardening forum about more natural methods.....I tried natural on my tomatoes last year and battled bugs all season....Those flea beetles were really doing a number on my eggplants and I was looking for something quick and effective and had Sevin on hand. Squished an untold number of aphids on the tomatoes today.

If it is a hornworm you will know soon enough, they will eat all the leaves off of branches basically overnight. Best thing to do for them is to knock them off and squish them....some people take scissors out to the garden and cut them in half when they find them.
