Question - replanting the garden

Now that the South Florida heat has scoured most of my maiden effort at SFG, I'm planning to replant the entire thing - with two more beds and a real garden plan this time. Our next growing season kicks in in September, so I'll be looking at starting my seedlings indoors in a few weeks, and planting in a month.

My question is what to do with my two existing raised beds. In a few weeks, I'll probably clear out the remaining plants. I know I should probably add in some compost - but do I need to solarize the soil to clear out any pests/weeds? I had an aphid problem recently on some of the plants, which I 'solved' by removing the plants entirely (the heat was getting to them anyway). Do I need to treat the soil in any way?
