Oooh, I'd love an answer to that question. My local nursery never got any seed potatoes. Is it possible to just plant one I got from the store? Sorry to add to your question.

i'd guess yes, but i'm no real pro. LOL man, now my curiosity is up too!! LOL
carol, i have heard that you can't, BUT one of my friends in our little town does that all the time, what she does is cut them into pieces so each one has an "eye" and then lets them dry out. then she puts them on the ground you know, bare, then she covers them with alot of straw, so she doesnt do the digging. she said she'll never go back to the other way again, its so much better and they taste so much better!! i haven't done this yet, but i will.
