Cats revisited....

I just had another idea (uh-oh....look out!).

We obviously don't want cats scratching in our SFG's. I have used a certain material for a number of years to keep cats off tables and counter tops.

This material is carpet runner.

You know, the clear plastic stuff for high traffic areas. Well, here's the deal. Look at the back of it. It's full of short little spikes to keep it in place on carpet.

CATS DO NOT LIKE TO WALK OR LAY ON THESE SPIKES.

Does anyone think it is viable to use trimmed-to-size pieces between plants as a repellent? Maybe even as a moisture-retaining layer?
