I also had a problem with harlequin bugs attacking my broccoli earlier this summer. I think I planted a little late, because they did not attack until it had started getting warmer, so I'm thinking that maybe I will plant earlier next year and try to harvest before it gets warm enough for them to swarm. On that note, I am still trying to grow broccoli this fall. I just planted transplants a couple of days ago, and so far, so good. This is my only experience with them, but I hope it helps. I'll try and keep you updated with how my fall crop goes.
