I don't know about the transplanting issue, but I have several Rhods that haven't bloomed, yet!! Keepin' my fingers crossed for ya'...

Mine are just barely thinking about starting. Have patience!

I bought 4 Rhododendrons very early this year -- probably in March. 3 of them had large buds when I bought them. I really didn't think they would bloom, but mercy me, they bloomed big time during our last little warm period here in the Memphis area which I think was about 3 weeks ago. Lots of large lavender colored blooms. I think they started blooming about 4 weeks ago and are all finished now. One small plant did not bloom at all, but I think I had it placed in too sunny a spot and moved it again to a shadier spot.

I don't think the transplanting should affect them blooming because it didn't affect mine and I am very new to this to outdoor planting.

Please let me know if they ever do bloom this year so I can learn from your experience.

My rhodie started blooming on May 1, which I thought was early? In the mtns. they aren't due to bloom until June 1, correct? Of course, I'm in the valley, and my rhodie is in full sun.
