It appears to be a regular summer squash that should have been picked about 10 days ago. The color changes as it gets long and longer, until it appears washed out. It is too ripe to do much with it.

Save it as a weapon to deter intruders. Otherwise, toss it. Be sure to thank your neighbor. Zucchini can do that to neighbors!

It looks like an oriental squash. I have a neighbor who grows them and they look like a charleston grey watermelon They are good stewed with onion, pepper, a bit of aregano and olive oil.

Don't toss it - make zucchini cake! Grate it up. Zucchini cake is delicious. I always use my warclubs for zucchini cake.

It's also a lot easier to give away than the actual zucchini.
