Will this fertilizer method work?

The reason i'm posting here is my main crop will be tomatoes. I want to buy some Neptunes Harvest to use on my garden. I also want to use homemade liquid fish emulsion. For toamtoes should i just use the seaweed blend only? will it hurt to use both the seaweed and my homemade fish?? and if i use both will it work for all my veggies?

I would recommend Steve Solomon's Complete Organic Fertilizer. Since I've started using it - Wow! - have my plants done really well!

Neptune's Harvest makes several products.

Most all of them are low nutrient rated (2-3-1, 1-0-2, etc.). The fish/seaweed blend is rated 2-3-1 and the straight fish emulsion at 2-4-1 but there is no way to know the nutrient value/rating of the home-made fish emulsion and it is still quite possible to overdose plants even with organic fertilizers.

So, I'm not sure what the benefit would be in using both nor for using it on all the plants. Different vegetables have very different nutrient needs and we don't know what the nutrient levels already in your soil may be. Have you had a soil test done?

If your main crop will be tomatoes then why not just stick with either one of the Neptune's Harvest products and forget the home-made stuff - it will stink to high heaven anyway. If used per the package directions either of the NH products will meet your needs. Just keep in mind that in the case of fertilizers, more is NOT always better. ;)

I can vouch for the Neptune's Harvest fish/seaweed blend (2-3-1). Excellent product for feeding via both roots and foliage. Agree with Dave: I wouldn't use any homemade stuff (except maybe compost) on my tomatoes.

Put the whole fish in a hole in the ground, one fish per hole, and plant the tomatoes on top of them. No stinky, same effect.

Bury a stray cat in each panting hole and do a chicken dance around your garden while chanting, "hey-yah, hey-yah, hey-yah, hey-yah...."

Thanks for the info all, and yes my ph is correct along with tons of organic matter built in my soil and beds. And I have access to tons of compost. I think i will just go with fish/seedweed Product and not mess with the emulsion anymore,my first experience with it was a lot of precious time making it anyway. And if a Chicken dance works i'll have to either talk to my chickens about it or maybe invite seedboy over to show them how its done...lol

Um, If I recall it's "I'm gonna rock this town"?
