ribbit, mine are infringing. But I did 8 solid squares (half the bed), so that was a LOT of bush beans! About half way through their growth, I tucked some small wire fencing between them and the beets next to them, but they are still shading out the beets too much. I think I'd have been better to keep it at 4 squares across one side or through the center of the bed. Mine are going to be a nightmare when it comes time to pick. I think I've posted a photo in here, but not sure where, so...

Those poor, poor carrots! They look so sheepish under there just poking their little heads out.

Hmmmm....after that I'm wondering if building a third bed only for bush beans and bush cucumbers wouldn't be so bad of an idea. That way than can encroach on each other as much as they would like or maybe I can just rework things so that one of my existing beds can be dedicated to it and the other to some of the other stuff I want to try.

Then again....I may just HAVE to build that bed. You know how that goes.

Well, kind of by accident, I decided to plant my vining crops (not exactly bush - LOL) in containers filled with Mel's Mix. I was gone on a long vacation and then have been gone twice more since being home, so it was more because I hadn't built my SFG yet and these suckers were HUGE so I HAD to transplant ASAP.

So, if you don't get a 3rd bed done right away...don't fret too much, just figure out another way to get what you want... LOL... at least in a container, they can't overrun other veggies as they have to stay where you "contain" them. LOL Mine are looking really happy and flowering within days of going in the containers. I'm sure they're going to do GREAT.
