here is the bug... not sure if this is just a normal bug or something to worry about.

Looks like hornworm damage. They are really hard to spot at first. Are leaves being eaten at all? They usually eat both. I haven't had anything in my garden do that type of damage except the hornworm. I just had two eat down my eggplant in one day.

Maybe birds or squirrel's?

I don't know what that is, but I would try a pepper spray. Should be good for hornworms and for little critters like squirrels. I haven't had to use it, but have read it's a pretty effective way to deal with an array of culprits- plus it's quick and easy to make. Just google Pepper spray for exact amounts- you basically need crushed red pepper and water; boil it then strain it- spray it all over the plants and make sure you wash them good!
