Ahhhh, college life! I remember some of it well.

this is Ryan (um i think i was bluetruck99 and before that mycarbumps) i went to school with lucas and attended the East tn swap last year (i think last year?) with him. i changed screen names because i had a few differences of oppinions with spike and later with another user. i might try to come to the fall swap. i dont know how much plants i'll have because i quit working at "The Sap" and i rent a house so no use improving the yard since i dont own it. but i will try to get soem things going or hack some cuttings off some of the local vegitation. nice to see a lot of old screen names still posting here.

(and i'll try real hard not to get banned from the site again)

I was thinking of the fall swaps today as I stuck a bunch of scented geranium cuttings. :-)

what "flavors" are you growing? i see the citronella around here a lot. but some of the others like vanilla and lemon/lime are not so common. those always did well in my hydroponics systems.

I have both lemon and lime, also mint rose, staghorn oak, wildwood, Clorinda, and a bunch of others. About 10-15 varieties altogether. :-)

no, i had some things come up, and ended up having to cut my education a little short, so i moved back to knoxville and got a "real" job (i quit at the garden center i worked at because the money was seasonal but my landlord wants the rent every month) i dont make it back to cookeville much anymore. i do miss hanign out with lucas though. i hpe to be able to go back to school sometiem and get the degree but i dont know if that will happen or not? very nice to see so many familiar names. gotta get to work propigating for the fall swap. so far it looks like i'll have rooted aloe vera cuttings and african violet leaves.. thats not going to cut it. im trying to convince my mom to coem and she ah a huge garden and plenty of things to divide. anyway, enough rambling. have a nice long weekend everyone.

If you have any variegated African violets (variegated leaves) I'd love to have them. I've heard that they tend to not come true from leaf cuttings, though!

The swap sounds great. I've been wondering what to do with all my plants that multiply and I have no more room for them! So I will be looking for more info on that.
I'm responding to the post about variegated african violets also. I have several varieties and they do come true from leaf propagation. If grown and propagated properly, you should get babies that are genetically the same as the parent. Sometimes it takes a little while for it to show up so don't give up on them. And grow them fairly cold as soon as they are big enough to take it. It is the one thing that is pretty much agreed to increase variegation. I have a Whisper Blue that has more pink and cream on the leaves than it does green and the babies are starting to variegate nicely too.

Ryan you need to be careful on the Dragon and the Hellbender dude! They can be very dangerous. (Sorry, I don't mean to sound like your parents!)

Robbinsville and the Lake Fontana area are awesome! We usually hang-out in Bryson City though.

BTW, if you head out on the "Ridge", it's a $500 fine for speeding on the BRP. The park rangers love kids on crotch rockets!

yea, luckally i havent seen many cops up there. i have a lawyer who should keep them from sticking their hand tooo deep into my wallet if i do get caught. if you ride, i recomend www.easttnriders.com the forums there are awesome. the dragon is dangerous, and honestly not as much fun as the skyway, or brushy mountain (the one near oak ridge TN). i need to start going at off times, instead of saturday/sunday afternoons. if i have to cross one more double yellow to pass a minivan doing 11 mph in a 30 zone im going to quit riding there. if you do ride, i highly recomend the ETR website i posted above, we have memebers from AL, west/middle TN, GA, KY, NC, even yankees who come down a few times a year to ride our sweet roads. my SN there is HandsomeRyan.

nope, i quit about 18 months ago at The Sap. (not making enough money)

some motorcycles do have stereos (hence they bump), but not sport bikes, so mine does not. and the trucks stereo got stolen (twice) so it no longer bumps either.
