Serissa (tiny white or lavender blossoms) and Rosemary (bluish to purple blooms)are two common topiary plants. Perhaps one of these would work for you.

I have made topiaries from tender fuchsias, flowering maple,and helitrope. I see alot of helitrope standards in the last couple of years.

Yes, I second the fuschia. Here's a early picture of mine. Right now they're in full bloom. They're kind of top heavy so you have to keep them staked. I also saw a picture of a mock orange topiary that I'm going to try next.

I have 2tree roses that are to be round...dont look anything like the picture I bought it from. you cant rush this could loose bush to shock,

I have turned a Mayflower Viburnam into an umbrella shape after 5 years of careful pruning. It stands 12 feet tall X 10 ft wide. The branching is extremely interesting and the flowers are a beautiful pale pink with a heavenly perfume.
I wonder if anyone else here has ever tried viburnam for topiary?
